i downloaded the 10 day free trial of world of warcraft, wrath of the lich king. after my ten days is up, which expansion packs do i need to buy in order to play?

ok if u’re sayying that u used the WOTLK trial it meas that u have clasic wow and TBC, if thtas’ right u only have to buy the WOTLK expansion. If u are just starting from scratch then u have to buy classic wow cd-key, the TBC cd-key and finally wotlk cd-key. Also u have to pay the monthly charge 4 playing th game, u can pay either with a cradit card or buying the prepaid game cards.

I am having wrath of the lich king installation problems, could somone please help me out? I try to download the 3 discs, the first 2 work fine. The original WoW and then the burning crusade, but when I reach wrath of the lich king it stops at 97-98% and gives a tremendous error that makes me sad. What do I doooo?

You can try downloading the expansion online by going to account management on WoW’s website. Just click on "Download Game Client" and select "full client" and which game you want to download. As long as you have an activation key, you won’t have to pay.

I have just newly hit level 80 on my paladin on wow, and was wondering what the requirements are to tank random heroics? (such as health, dodge/parry rating, etc.)
Also is there a way to get geared that well without having to grind for emblems of triumph as a dps or having to pay lots of gold on the AH.

I do not recommend any gold/gear site as above, it’s up to you if you want to risk the account ban or giving access to your characters.

You have to grind for tier gear. It’s a little hard to buy good gear for starters. Do all the quests in icecrown/storm peaks and you might pick up some gear. I’m not sure if you have blacksmithing, mining or engineering (for trinkets) but those will help you gear up. I like to start my 80’s with crusader orb gear, rather then spend all the gold on primordial saronite gear. Then get some titansteel gear. The cheapest way to buy good gear is to check out the patterns at www.wowwiki.com and buy/farm the mats, then tip someone some gold to craft them for you. Plus hopefully on your server solid majestic zircon’s aren’t going for too much.

My prot pally just hit 80 two days ago. I’m starting him off with two trinkets I made as an engineer, tempered titansteel helm, burning skull pendant, tempered saronite shoulders, durable nerubhide cape, white knight breastplate (crusader orbs), saronite swordbreakers (crusader orbs), daunting handgaurds, tempered saronite belt (with buckle), daunting legplates, tempered titansteel treads, titansteel gaurdian and titansteel shield wall, signet of the accord and titanium earthgaurd ring. Lots of solid majestic zircons in there too, and enchants. Being a miner really helps for mats. Unbuffed my pally’s at 28k health, 20% dodge, 17% parry and 10% block. It’s a decent starting point for heroics.

Depending on how much gold you have laying around, you may or may not be able to get the titansteel/crusader orb gear, hence questing out high levels to get the best free blues you can get.

I recommend as a minimum, unbuffed, 25k health, 15% dodge, 9% parry, and a decent percent block. My husband’s a kingslayer prot pally so I’m getting these stats from him. If you’ve got a guild, try asking guildies who are well geared to carry you a little, or hook up with a really good healer. Or go the dps route for starters, but I saw you didn’t want to do that. You can also try running ToC on regular for a while to earn some good plate tank gear, or other dungeons on regular.

I deleted my WoW program but i still have my account which is at WOTLK. I lost my first two cds but found my wotlk is it okay if i just install that or do i first have to install the other 2?

If you have an account you can download the game from the WoW sight for free and if there is any trouble an email to blizzard will be a quick fix.

I did a 10 day trial for wrath of the lich king and then decided to buy the original world of warcraft game. When i tried to install it, it said there was an error and to re-install so i tried to re-install it twice and it didnt work each time…any tips?

Well yes you can buy the Original WoW after a free trial…in fact you HAVE to buy the Original if you want to play the other ones.

Im not sure wat to say about your error sense i don’t know when your error is occurring and what your error is saying. I would Completely Uninstall in the game, make sure you have ALL your CDs needed to install it and try again. Plus make sure to check your internet connection and firewall.

When you install the game and you go to login it will have to download severely patches which should happen automatically but if your firewall keeps blocking it then nothing will get done.

P.S idk when your error is occurring whether is during the installation or while logging in the game
so im just gonna answer for everything.

Does your computer meet the requirements? This game is HUGE and will put a lot of weight on any computers system. And do you have an Apple computer? Because if you do then things get a little complicated and i cant help you there. Also are you putting the CD’s in the DVD drive or the CD rom drive i know some people get those mixed up and the computer wont read the disc because its in the wrong drive.

I tried to install the WOLK but all I could not find the install icon, only play. I already installed Burning Crusade. I checked the web and they replied that you should try to see if you can create a character with the death knight class but I don’t have a Level 55 character. I have the latest patch installed on my computer.

can you create a lvl 55 death knight ? if you can, the wotlk is installed i think
or it will not let you make a DK character if you have no full game version

If your going unholy, it is recommended for you to go orc, but if you want to be a Tank, the Health and Aoe stun is priceless, so go Tauren for tank.

What you are describing is not possible, as Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King are NOT stand alone programs. They are expansion packs, which means that without the original World of Warcraft software, they cannot work. They are expansions that have to have the original game to attach themselves to, and then run.

So, no…you can’t put them both on one computer as though they were separate ‘programs’ and that is why when you look into the ‘Add or Remove Programs’ you only see one file. When Burning Crusade was installed on the computer, it had to already have Classic world of warcraft installed first, or the Burning Crusade would not have installed. The same is true of Wrath of the Lich King…unless the Classic World of Warcraft AND Burning Crusade were BOTH already installed on the computer, Wrath of the Lich King would not have installed.

If you have two separate accounts, you should be able to log on to either account on the same computer, just enter the login information for the account that you are looking to access. Reinstalling the software will only overwrite what is already there and not change anything other than give you more work that you really need to go through.

I just looked up the online upgrade off blizzard’s website and it said 30 dollars, but I think I saw it for much less somewhere else. So now i’m really confused, does anyone know the actual price?

I think BC is probably $20 now (or something close to that) and wotlk is probably about $30, if you buy both discs separately. It might be cheaper if you buy it from the website.
