What class do you think I should e in World of Warcraft?

By admin | September 28, 2008

I am trying to decide over a class to be in world of warcraft, the only thing i will rule out is paladin becuase I'm not going to make an alliance and I don't have the expansion. But otherwise I'm kind of drawing between Warrior, Shaman, and hunter. Can anyone respond and give some kind of idea to what class I should pick? And why?

Further to the above answers, most of which are really good info, I have both a warrior and a hunter. I far prefer to play my hunter, especially now I have a pet. Being the tank as a warrior gets too hectic and boring after a while. Plus using my hunter is like always playing alongside another person, thereby doubling your kill rate and chances, because of my pet. As long as you feed your pet, you can't go wrong. if it dies you can revive it, and if it's badly damaged you can mend it. It just makes the game a bit more different from the norm, in my opinion.

Shaman. If I ever choose to reactivate my account and play again I'd choose to play as this, they're rare and an interesting character to build. =)

I preferred a hunter, although each class has its own unique style. The hunter was interesting because as you advance you get to tame a pet to help you in your adventure.

"sry i have a life lol" your life is so awesome you have to troll the video game answers forum? I wish I was like you!

Anyway to answer you…the only answer I can think of is that you need to look at the roles of the classes vs the classes themselves. Do you want to do damage in raids? PVP? heal? tank? or support? If you are planning on doing end game raiding you have to figure it out for yourself. Besides by the time you get to end game your current class could be changed drastically for better or worse. It is more in how you play than what you play.

it depends on if you wanna solo or group and if you want to melee or cast. Hunter is great for solo, you can melee or be ranged, and you have a pet to help you so its like you are never alone. he can hold aggro and even help tank in dungeons. i highly recommend an orc or troll hunter, especially if you are new. orcs work best if you want to be beast spec and trolls for markmanship(if you plan on using your bow/gun mostly).shaman is awesome but needs more grouping. they can almost never die if you play right. if you spec right you can tank…though restro shamans are most popular. make sure you get on a new server so the economy is low and you can actually afford to buy stuff. and you can always respec at end game so you are better equipped for the 8 hour dungeons and raids. go to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com and look into each race/class and how they complement each other.

It actually depends how you like to play the game. Here are my few pointers to help you decide:

You know you're a Warrior when
    - you like to be in front whacking people while getting whacked.
    - you love to carry the biggest weapons or a weapon and shield with the heaviest armour you can wear.
    - you want to use every kind of weapon and armour available in the game.
    - you can't understand why anyone else would want to use spells when steel gives the same results.

You know you're a Shaman when
    - you can't really decide what you wanna be (tank, healer, dps) so you want to try your hand at everything.
    - you love to have sticks sticking out the ground (totems) giving you benefits.
    - you love to be able to run around in ghost wolf form at level 20 for faster transportation.
    - you like having a mixture of spells while still be able to hold yourself a bit in melee.

    You know you're a hunter when …
    - you want to make every beast in the game your pet.
    - when you rather shoot from afar then get upclose and personal melee style.
    - you think having a bow / gun in your hand is a lot cooler than a sword / mace / axe
    - when you just want to know where everyone else is on the map (tracking ability)

If your just startingnad want a easy start go hunter. They are the easiess class to lvl up. Its what blizzard recomend for noob's

Warrior will get you more easier in Pve cause armor make you take less physical DMG ( resistence is for magical dmg )

And a Shaman is nice cause it heal. do magic DMG and can dualweild.

you have to choose what you think would be more fun.

But you could make a hunter to start, and when making reroll you could send gold/items/ enchantement or whatever would be your profession to your reroll

    Hunter :

Easy to level, Easy/Fun PVP, mildly difficult endgame (shot rotations required for decent DPS), hard to get endgame groups/raids.

    Shaman :

Harder to level, Easy/Fun PVP IF you get to spec damage, easy enough endgame, most groups/raids will want you to be restoration which cramps your style doing other things. Blizz seems to not be too sure what they're doing with the class either, which could either hurt or help you in the future.

    Warrior :

Hard to level, Fun PVP if you spec MS, hard endgame, most groups/raids will want you to tank, in which case you can't solo much. Tanking is one of the more difficult roles in WoW. I wouldn't reccomend warrior.

Out of the three as a starter character i would definately say hunter. You may have some issues getting a guild for endgame, but once you do the class has incredible depth, and you won't be stuck in a role where you can't experience the rest of the game. Leveling/grouping will be pretty easy for you getting up to 70, and once you hit 70 – there is more things to keep you interested, because you can be a viable PVP spec and still be a good raid/group spec, and you can always try to max your DPS via shot rotations which change with every ranged weapon you get.

I personally am a human pally and think it's a great class… but my horde char is a troll hunter. It really makes the game easier to have a pet in fron taking all the damage. Warlocks would also be a good choice because they are similar (take damage for you) this way you don't really need good armour and can focus more on good weapons and training.

i would choose a hunter or a warlock because with those two you get some extra back up from your minion with the warlock or an animal with your hunter and hunters have long range weapons to start out with that do quite a bit of damage and your pet can learn different types of moves and here are some moves that a hunter can learn scare beast mongoose bite auto shot concussive shot freeze trap fire trap distract shot but only taurens orcs and trolls can be hunters while warlock can only be orcs trolls and undead i myself have a lvl 21 hunter orc as my highest lvl character my second highest is a lvl 20 warlock undead
