What are the chances of getting caught for buying WoW gold?
By admin | June 28, 2009
My friend wants me to ask this. He needs about 5k to 7k wow gold, and was thinking of buying it from one of those millions of websites that sell WoW gold. He wants to know if he should buy it, and if anyone has or know someone who has, please tell your story. What are the consequences of being caught buying it?

I'll answer your question, but then I'm afraid I have to insult your friend. My apologies in advance.
I am quite sure you can safely buy the gold. The only thing Blizzard (WoW's company) will know is that someone gave you 5K gold. Anyone is allowed to give anyone else gold any time they want to.
If by some strange chance your friend gets "caught", and Blizzard actually knows that he bought the gold, the would probably just confiscate his gold. He would lose all that he bought.

The insult: Gold sellers are scum. Gold buyers are worse. I've played WoW since it started. I've got 5 guys over level 70, and I've got over 100,000 gold without EVER, ever, ever buying 1 little copper. My first character was the hardest. I had to work extra hard to get him the things he needed. BUT THAT'S PART OF THE GAME!
Nowadays, it's easier than ever to make gold. Even lowbie characters can mine for metal ore or pick herbs and sell them for HUGE amounts because of all the inflation. One example – a stack of copper ore SHOULD and used to sell for about 40 silver. Now you can get 2, 3, sometimes 5G or more for just one stack.

So…no, your friend wouldn't get in trouble. But DON'T support these gold-spamming – good-for-nothing – chinese-farming – lowbie-scum!!!!!

You get caugh = you get banned. And you muight even get scammed by some gold sellers. My advice would be to just buy a gold guide, it will help you make more gold http://www.wow-gold-guide.org/best-wow-gold-guides.php

Who really cares? All these wankers who say it’s part of the game can get fu**ed, farming ore and herbs is just about the most mind numbingly boring part of the game. So is levelling multiple characters the quests are super repetitive. The thing is there is a good chance you can get caught. Alot of gold buying websites get gold by stealing it from accounts they have scammed. Now normally I’m all for idiots loosing their shit for typing their account info into a dodgy website but I take into account it’s probably alot of kids who get caught in these scams which isn’t very fair. If someone over 18 falls for it though they should have known better. So if someones account gets hacked and their gold gets stolen and they report it, blizzard can track it so when you buy some gold and recieve stolen gold blizzard can see where it came from and confiscate it. It is a gamble.

DONT DO IT. u ever wonder why blizz leaves all those lv 1 gold sellers and there guild full of gold alone. its to pick off the players that are buying it. so EG: a gold farmer has started a small buisness trying to make some money. bliz catches on to this person selling gold. theyl let him keep selling it. and once about 300people have bought from him, theyl pop all the accounts and then let the goldseller continue to do there work for them. its risky somewon could do it 50times and not get caught wheras u could try it once and get caught. caught=ban
