What is the Gold in World Of Warcraft used for?

People are selling gold for world of warcraft, what kinds of things can be used in WoW to buy with the gold?
You can buy alot of stuff in wow with gold like : Mounts, Weapons, Armor, food, drinks, Potions, Materials for your professions, etc… 1 gold in wow is 100 silver or 1 thousand bronze's. As a low level the monsters you kill drops about 24 bronzes.. As you level up and kill higher levels and do high lvl quests you will earn more money that you can ever think. At level 80 you can make about 19 gold from 1 daily and at level one you only make about 50 bronze.
And here is what sucks… Buying gold from websites is ILLEGAL in wow. My friend bought 7k gold from a website then after 4 days his account got banned. WARNING THOUGH some websites may hack you account and you wont even be able to get your money back.. There goes your time that you wasted…. And i know that you can retrieve your account back from World of warcraft support website or calling them but if the guy hacked your account im preety sure he would sell all ur armor from all ur characters then send all the gold you have to his acc and delete your characters… So yea i know this answer is a little long but im just trying to let you know.

um… well… everything. Gold is the currency in WoW. It is used to buy armor, weapons, gems (to make your armor better), enchantments, mounts, food, etc.
The reason people are selling gold is because some things in the game cost a lot of gold – and therefore take a lot of time to get. So, people that are (for lack of a better word) lazy will buy gold instead of spending many days earning the gold.

It is currency in the game. Besides that there are two other types of currency silver and bronze. 100 bronze equals a silver and 100 silver equals a gold. You can buy new armor, weapons, mounts services like portals and enchantments, or you can start a guild. But you can really use it for pretty much anything imaginable in the game hoped this helped =)

They answered your question, so I would like to Add that buying gold from those Farmers is it can get you suspended from the game and you stand a good chance of having your acct hacked and loose everything your toon has.

Its used for almost everything from traveling around to buying weapons, gear and mounts. Specialty epic gear and mounts cost a significant amount of gold that takes a long time to earn at level 80. Some people buy gold to raise profession like tailoring, jewelcrafting, etc..

It's used to buy a lot of things. Like pets, weapons, flying mounts, armor, dragonhawks, etc.

in world of warcraft the money system goes copper silver gold, 100 copper make 1 silver and 100 silver make 1 gold, gold can be used to buy anything from food to swords and everything in between. Its just like in the real world how bills buy us anything we want. People sell gold because they have way to much time on there hand and they have so much gold they try to make a living from selling it to other people.

But gold isnt the only type of money
There Copper Silver and Gold being the highest
You can buy almost everything with money in the game such as food drink armor and a whole other variety of stuff

Gold can be used to buy anything and everything. Most people find it most useful to buy high end items such as advanceed weapons and mounts.
To really dominate WoW players need to have a lot of gold which is why gold has become one of the keys to WoW success.

Well the gold they are selling in the game is the same as the gold you receive for doing quest, selling your items, and the gold you use to buy stuff. but the thing is is that it is against Blizzards Terms of Use to purchase Gold from people for real money. and they can get in trouble for that and so can you. so i suggest you stay away from it.

gold is used for buying crucial items…like if you want to buy some clothes in the Auctioneer you will see that the clothes are cost like these 1g 25s 22c meaning 1 Gold, 25 Silvers, 22 Coppers. 1 Gold its like 100 dollars in real life, 1 Silver is 10 dollars, and 1 copper is a cent.
