http://MakeWoWGold.com is a free website with gold-making strategies.
Some of the examples on there are using the Routes addon with Herbalism/Mining to fly circuits from point to point, picking and mining. Another is the farming spot: Fjorn’s Anvil, which requires a quest chain to ‘unlock’.

First of all, stop being lazy… The only thing a gold guide is going to tell you are common sense "tips"… Quests are an awesome way to make fast cash. At level 80 most of the Northrend quests give upwards of 20 gold each. I went back and did all of Borean Tundra after I hit 80 and made almost 700 gold in just a couple hours.
Right now the Midsummer Festival is on, so you can go and honour all the flames, etc. I made about 900 gold doing all of those achievements.
You could also always farm for highly sought after materials, or if you have a good business sense, you could play with the auction house a bit.
There’s no quick, easy way to make loads of gold on WoW, sorry. You’re going to have to put in some work like everyone else.

There’s a technique called "quest for gold", in which you complete quests and are rewarded with gold! =)
In all seriousness though, if you’re 68+ don’t rush out to Northrend just yet. Go ahead and finish the Outlands quest chains up, and do all the zones and instances so that you get the achievements and faction rep. You’ll likely be 74 to 76 by the time you finish, so the Northrend quests will be "easy mode" for you. You can’t fly in Northrend until 77, so unless you have the 6000g + it takes for epic riding, a new mount, and cold-weather flying, there’s no real need to rush out and buy that epic flyer you can’t use yet.
Most of all, don’t spend *any* money outside of repairs. You’ll quickly replace all your gear through quest rewards and instance runs anyway, so save your money for the epic flyer and some good level 80 gear, where it counts.
