are world of warcraft power leveling sites safe to use?
By admin | September 2, 2008
i am thinking about useing a wow powerleveling site i would like to know are these safe to use
They are NOT safe to use. For 2 main reasons:
1) Its against the TOS, and cheating. If blizz catches you (or even suspects you) the account will be banned. No way around it, you lose your toons and your money.
2) I've heard ppl say 'yeah I used this powerlevel site, I didnt have any trouble, blah blah'. They are the lucky ones…so far. How do you think those sites maintain themselves? Some accounts get hacked (sometimes MONTHS after the powerleveling) and their gear is DE'd/sold, their money all gone…and thats used to support the powerlevelling site itself. How do you think they 'farm' all that gold? A lot of it is by stealing from players…and if your account gets hacked, its not like you can go complain to blizzard about it once youve used a powerlevel service, can you?
Even if youre a lucky one who doesnt get hacked, you using that site is supporting a site that most likely does hack other people's accounts. If this were a RL comparison, it would be like buying something that you knew was stolen.

The chances that your account would survive are pretty low.
Powerleveling (paying somebody to level your character) is against Blizzards TOS. They have gotten very good at catching this and will ban your account. Not only would this cause you not to be able to access any character on the account, but it would also waste the money you had spent.
If for some reason Blizzard doesnt catch you, the powerleveling company could outright steal your account or hack it at a later time. The sites that facilitate this sort of thing are often loaded with keyloggers so even just visiting them could have negative results. No powerleveling company is safe.
If you value your account, I would refrain from this activity. You might also read this statement from Blizzard:
