What profession should I choose in WoW?

By admin | May 10, 2009

I'm going to be a Dwarf arms warrior on a PvP server in world of warcraft. My friend is also a dwarf paladin and is doing Mining and blacksmithing, so what should i choose? Preferably something that generates a large profit but can be useful to me aswell.
Rofl, To all them people saying I'm addicted or going to get addicted no I'm not. I can juggle all the things perfectly school and social life comes before WoW. So stop telling me i'm going to get addicted!

that depends. if you actually want to be able to use your professions, or if you just want to make money off of them. if you want to make money, pick two gathering professions like mineing and herbilism and then everything is profit, because youve got two professions that use the stuff from mineing and two that use the stuff from herblism.

if you actually want to be able to use the stuff you make, pick one gathering, then one of the crafting professions that goes with it. since your friend already has the blacksmithing bit covered, you could do mineing and enginering, or mineing and jewelcrafting. or even herbelism and alchemy.

im a fury warrior and when i was young and noobish and didnt know what any of the professions did (way way way back in the pre bc days) i picked alchemy and herbilsim and they actually have ended up serving me quite well. i can now make sick flasks, one of my trinkets is from herbisim and has served me better than any other trinkets ive gotten, and i dole out mana and health pots to help keep everyone alive in raids. i love it

and all you people saying WoW makes you a loser, shut it. you guys are clearly the losers because your wasting your time coming on here to make fun of those who do play. I play. i also have a full time job, a bunch of friends who DONT game who know i would drop WoW in an instant to hang with them if they asked, and a fiance who just happend to be the one to teach me to play. and guess what, im not even fat and neither is my fiance! o.O

not all WoW players are addicts. in fact, most of us lead quite normal lives outside of WoW. i personally know doctors, lawyers, engineers, and even clergymen who play WoW. just because you got addicted or think its for losers doesnt make it true. in fact, i bet most of you havent even played WoW. i thought it was a stupid game, and then i played it, and now i love it. so deal with it, and find a better way to waste your time then coming on here and bashing us. maybe YOUR the ones who should worry about going and playing outside. the only reason im on here is because im at work and CANT go outside

If you want money go with something like mining and skinning, or mining or herbalization.

Herb and inscripts. Herbs will make you a large profit and the inscripts will benefit you.

Skinning and Mining will yield lots of profits…and give you ok passives. For usefulness, Blacksmithing probably gives the most utility to a Warrior if you don't have gear when you hit 80, followed by Jewelcrafting/Engineering.

    PVP utility, maybe Engineering.

Enchanting+Mining are good professions, so are Leatherworking+Skinning.

If this is your first character then yes, Blacksmithing and Mining are a good choice.

some pros cost a lot to level, and what do you want to do do you to make money, your armor, make glyphs ?

Money makers are inscription and enchanting i'd say although enchanting costs a lot to level up and stuff
for armor well leather working for leather, tailoring for cloth
there's many things look them up online

If you ONLY want a large profit margin, go skinning and mining or skinning/herbalism – check the price of herbs/ore on the AH before you choose which one.

Especially as a DPS warrior, the skinning provides free critical strike rating! :) Always a tasty stat.

Mining/Herbalism is probably the best money but constantly changing which one you track is a pain in the ass, so I'd go with Mining/Skinning.

Don't bother with blacksmithing, jewelcrafting, etc, they will eat all your mats and leave you broke from all the cash you spend on the AH. At the end of the day, you will have a few extra stats, but it's not worth it unless you are the hardcore raiding type.

I think WoW cooking is an often overlooked second profession that can be a good way to make extra gold and to have some fun.
