WoW – How do you start a leatherworking profession?

I’m sorry, I know this is like super n00b stuff, but I can’t seem to figure out how to start leatherworking. I have the profession, so technically I should have the first 6 patterns, but I can’t find the beginning patterns? I have plenty of leather, thread, etc, but how do I actually craft something when I can’t find the patterns?
Make sure you open your spell book by pressing the shortcut "P". On the first tab, the General tab, there should be a button for Leatherworking. Click on this and it will open the window where you have the choice on what to craft, based on skills you have learned and trained. This window acts like a drop down menu, so in each category (ei. leather armor) make sure you don’t have the whole menu collapsed.
I know for sure that once you learn leatherworking, you should know the skill to turn Ruined Leather Scraps into Light Leather. This skill is at the very bottom of your Leatherworking window.

You learn the beginning patterns from the trainers – just simply select train skills. You can also purchase other patterns from vendors. Some are limited quantity.

i have the same problem but the skill is not there !!
