Not to sound like a or anything but you dont need to waste your durability like that just let your pet pull everything.
Get a pet that has thunderstomp of corse make that the only spell he can use. Since you know how Hobbs does his tanking AoE to keep attacking it. Just keep mend pet on pet when needed. Use your pinky to hold Ctrl+Index or Middle finger to press 1 commands the pet to attack that target. When you think you have enough. just keep pet alive Misdirect & Volley.
