My bf and I (and a friend) all thought it was releasing around the 10th of November, this year. But when we go to pre-order it’s showing a release date of November 1st of 2010. Anyone know whats up?

Blizzard has not given a release date yet, only 2010, so it’s anyone guess.

Given that they are still testing 3.3 and probably a few smaller patches after that before going to 4.0, I would guess the end of the year as well, probably Oct/Nov.

However, it’s all speculation at this point.
