world of warcraft expansion pack?

for my world of warcraft account, i’d like to keep it up-to-date so i am all ready for cataclysm. i currently do not own burning crusade OR wrath of the lich king.
i’d like to have draenais and blood elves but i am not sure if you have to buy burning crusade first then. if i buy wrath of the lich king, will i have to buy burning crusade as well?
you will need to install Burning Crusade before you install Lich King otherwise it will not work.

Yes, you’d need to buy and install each expansion pack in the order they were released.
