Okay heres the thing, I recently got a world of warcraft account and I think the first character I want to play is a mage. So there are some questions I want to know before I start.

1st: How well do Mages do in parties (Damage)
2nd: Are we wanted in raids?

Thats all thanks.

I have a lvl 66 mage right now and i think they are fun

1.) they do very well in parties, they are definitely the best dpsers in the game, depends what spec though

fire- is a very good damage spec you can be doing 8 k crits at lvl 80 but its more slow therefore not taht great for pvp.

frost- awsome for pvp because you have the water elemental the ability to slow people down with your attacks, the ice barrier which absorbs damage and you can get a talent to make it so that when it absorbs all the damage it frost nova's everyone around you and you can blink away. also ice lance.

arcane- is a mix between both, arcane barrage good instant cast but arcane missles and more mana regeneration, it does good damage definitly not as much as fire..but still alot.

So pretty much frost is pvp spec..fire is pve spec (dungeons and stuff)…and arcane is raid spec..

2.) i think they are very good in raids i would definitly get a mage in my raid group if i was having a raid they can port you guys to places and can do alot of damage, conjure some food, give some buffs..
