World of Warcraft®: Wrath of the Lich King™ Shatters Day-1 Sales Record
With more than 2.8 million copies sold in its first 24 hours, Blizzard Entertainment®’s second World of Warcraft expansion is now the fastest-selling PC game ever
IRVINE, Calif. – November 20, 2008 – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that World of Warcraft®’s second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King™, has sold more than 2.8 million copies in its first 24 hours of availability*, making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time. This eclipses the previous record of nearly 2.4 million copies sold in 24 hours, set in January 2007 by Blizzard’s first World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade®. Wrath of the Lich King was simultaneously released in North America, Europe, Chile, Argentina, and Russia on November 13; Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand on November 14; and South Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on November 18.
In celebration of the launch, more than 15,000 stores throughout the world had their doors open at midnight to welcome thousands of expectant players. Several of these locations were attended by Blizzard Entertainment representatives, who met players and signed copies of the game.

ive only played trial on this and as soon as i realised u pay monthly…. disapointingly i sed no to buying it. but whats the story line? ….. btw amazing graphics even if it isnt like tht in the game… they deserve some recognition haha

that is not sapphiron .this is the frost queen fordigrasa sumthing like that and she is going to be a boss in icecrown citadel. and warcraft 3 is only part of the the whole WOW storyline. u have to go back and play warcraft humans vs orcs which was made in 1996. and read the books bc there is soo much lore

I have heard a …
I have heard a million times about how heroics are easy and about how it’s “no problem”. It’s complete rubbish. (Sorry to call you a liar but you are)
NO GROUP IN THE GAME (Bladefist Server) has ever been able to show me a heroic level boss die. I went with them (helping of course) and they ALWAYS fail on final boss. Again and again and again with different groups. They all say it’s so easy but can never back it up. So it’s BS. It’s NOT easy and you’re not telling the truth. It’s VERY hard.

wow what server you play on cause those people seriously need to learn to play, when i hit 80 on my resto shaman i stepped right into heroics, tier 6 gear lasted me all the way till i had tier 7.5, never once were heroics “Hard”

I can’t agree with …
I can’t agree with you on that. I don’t know about Naxx, I’m talking about Northrend heroics. 15/15 total group wipes with experienced players that have completed the instances on normal. Never once saw heroic final boss drop below 50% in HoL, UP, HoS, Nexus, or UK. Epic fail every time. I even offered 1000g per player for anyone to “Show Me” that a heroic final boss can be defeated. NONE could do it, even level 80 groups that already had full epics and experience with the instance. So I say BS.

Be warned if you buy the expansion.
Leveling 70-80 is great and the regions in Northrend are pretty cool. Very well done in my opinion. The problem is when you get to level 80 you run into a wall of difficulty like you can’t believe. VERY, VERY hard bording on impossible. Heroic instances and raids are basically impossible regardless of your class. I quit a week ago because it was just too hard. Levels 1079 are sweet and the game is fun. Level 80 / Endgame blows. Go to LOTRO much better.
