can i play wow wrath of lich king if i only have that wow game?

do you need world of warcraft, and world of warcraft burning crusade to be able to play world of warcraft wrath of the lich king?
You need the original WoW to activate/play the Burning Crusade expansion, and need both the original WoW key plus a Burning Crusade upgrade in order to play Lich King. WoW lets you play up to 60, Burning Crusade provides the 60-70 content, and Lich King provides 70-80 content. (There is some other content, like races/classes, but advancing any character past 60 or 70 requires the next expansion).
Can i continue me account if i use a 10day trail of wrath of lich king world of warcraft?

its best to progressively buy them cuz u are not gonna hit level cap for awhile and if u turn out to not like the game after awhile u didnt waste u money
