Does anything happen to my level 70 character on WoW if I upgrade to Wrath of The Lich King?

I overheard someone saying something about level 70 characters going down levels after installing the new Wrath of The Lich King expansion and just wanted to clarify.
You keep your gear and your character and everything you have… it is just giving you more gameplay

Nothing will happen to your level 70 except the ability to level to 80.

Nothing happens to any of your characters. They all remain the same level, and you can play them as usual.
Perhaps what you heard was that 70 was no longer the highest level, as the cap is being raised to 80.
