I had the same problem before WOTLK came out, I upgraded to a trial wotlk account then the 15 days ran out and I couldn’t play.

Tell them you’ve upgraded to a trial account of WOTLK and you would like to degrade as you cant log on and you dont really want to buy WOTLK for the time being. They’ll understand afterall your paying monthly and they will sort your account out in seconds.
